Is there anything more adorable than a little kid fully embracing his age?

Conci's Second Birthday
This past Sunday we celebrated my cousin's second birthday, which was the perfect time to take my new camera out for another test drive. I can't resist a picture of adorable kids...especially little toddlers enjoying sweet treats!
Meet the birthday girl, Conci (short for Concepcion, my late Nana's name)!
As soon as she saw this card she ripped open the envelope and checked out the goods inside.
While we waited for the most important part of a two-year-olds birthday (the cake, of course), another one of my cousins kept us all entertained with funny faces:
And then it was time....
...time for cake! Get excited.
But just as Conci got ready to blow out those big-girl candles...
Little Elijah rushed in thinking it was his birthday party!
Luckily, the birthday girl didn't even realize what was going on!
If cake is the most important aspect of a party, then presents are most definitely the second best part. Conci ripped through her presents likea girl on a mission.
One of her favorite presents from the day must have been the mini piano her Godfather gave her.
Because after she got it out of its packaging, she got right to business. I don't know about you, but I think we have a budding pianist on our hands.
Happy birthday, Conci!

A Family Session: The Herrs
Happy Monday! Here's a sweet session with my good friends Natalie, Nick, and Elliot. I just had a blast shooting with Brooke Ashley Photography and hope The Garntos and Herrs had as much fun.
I can't tell you how much I'm in love with this little boy. He is absolutely, positively adorable. And on that note, his mom and dad are just as great. Actually, check out the blog his mom writes, it's called Oven Love and she'll have you drooling in no time!

A Family Session: The Garntos
This past Sunday I had the pleasure of tagging along with Brooke Ashley Photography for two family sessions. Not only that, but I'm friends with both families, so it made my first shoot that much smoother.
They picked a Christmas tree farm for their location, which turned out to be the perfect spot. The only downfall was how much the temperature dropped while we were there. Poor little Brennan started to freeze his little toes off, so we had to cut their session short.
The Garntos:
Seconds after this last photo was taken, little Brennan could barely move because it was so cold, so we called the session a bit early. On Monday I'll post part two of that days!

Sunday Scavenger Hunt
I really love these scavenger hunts, because even though my shots may not be that great—*cough* "night" picture *cough*—it's making me focus on taking a picture of something specific. So not only am I practicing taking pictures, but I can practice editing different things, too!
The 5 Senses
The 5 Senses
I had a really hard time figuring out what I was going to do for this one. In the end, I realized the only sense I need help with is my sense of sight, so this is a self portrait of my left eye with my glasses on. If I ever take a shot like this again I'll make sure my glasses are clean first..
Child/Children
My husband and I participated in the Susan G. Koman Race for a Cure yesterday and I saw this little girl being carried by her mom, a breast cancer survivor. It was a sight to see, for sure. (On a technical side note, I did some pretty fun editing with this, all with the clone stamp. I took out a whole bunch of telephone wires and a couple people. I think I did a pretty decent job and had so much fun seeing the difference!)
Dining(October 2010 item)
Dining out at Chili's. I ordered the chicken fajitas. YUM.
Night
I hate this picture. But it's a scavenger hunt, not a "great picture" hunt.
Sky
I pulled this one out from my archives. It's only about two weeks old, though. We visited a lighthouse on Tybee Island, Georgia and I just loved the blue sky surrounding the lighthouse. It was gorgeous.
